Rockets ready to face Clippers with or without Chris Paul

Rockets will face the Clippers tonight, but aren’t sure if they will face Chris Paul due to his injuring playing and winning against the San Antonio Spurs. When they asked his coach  Kevin McHale if Chris was playing or not he said “The sun may or may not come out tomorrow. I don’t know, but I’m banking on it. So, we’ll go from there.” The rockets are expecting him to play, Rockets point guard Jason Terry added. “Obviously, we expect him to play, and we’re preparing as if he’ll be in the lineup.”

Tiger Escape
Tigers are seen as beautiful animals that look dangerous and peaceful all at the same time, but what happens when they go missing. In the Oklahoma City Zoo, Lola, a four-year old tiger, managed to escape her exhibit. Apparently this animal was enough to put the Zoo on lockdown until they found her. She presided to go to another cat exhibit where a clouded leopard was placed. The two cats were so close that it almost came down to a cat-fight, but a wire mesh in the fence gave her away.  When Lola was found she was tranquilized and place in her exhibit again. Fortunately no one in the Zoo was hurt, but it did scare many of the people. Hopefully this doesn’t happen again,  in any of the Zoos, especially when there is families walking around.

Could Houston Be the Next Baltimore?
Stemming from Freddie Gray’s death, various riots, lootings, and violent acts, many experts say that something like this can definitely happen in Houston. Although being really difficult to plan, riots are spontaneous. These riots are also counterproductive to their intended purpose, since they destroy their communities that take years to recover from them.
Baltimore protest
The country and demonstrations have spread since Baltimore protest Tuesday over the death of Freddie Gray. Marchers are taking to the streets to support Baltimore protesters and to complain that police brutality is a problem in their own towns. Gray died from spinal cord injuries on April 19, a week after being arrested by Baltimore police.

Rare set of female Quintuplets born in Texas

Parents Danielle and Adam and big sister Blayke are now a family of eight. Danielle had intrauterine insemination to get pregnant, and delivered all five babies at Texas Woman’s hospital in Houston, Texas. Danielle later states "I honestly give all the credit to my God. I am so thankful for this wonderful hospital and team of people here. They truly all are amazing." The family is now accepting donations through “Go Fund Me” to pay for their hospital expenses. How would you feel with this new profound fame if you were a part of this family?
Sea World to Close?
In New York, Jane Goodall commented that Sea World should be closed and out of business charts. During an interview with the HuffPo, Jane stated that this theme park should be closed down, even though it is very famous among the aquatic-animal lovers. Ever since the movie “Blackfish” was released in 2013 the stock prices “has gone into a tailspin, falling roughly 48%” it was also released on CNN during that fall. The animals, like Dolphins and Orcas are confined in a “bathtub”, they also communicate with solar-like sound waves, that in these “bathtubs”, bounce back at them. She also said that these animals can suffer from insanity from being in captivation, like with the case of Tilikum, who killed a veteran trainer in 2010. In some other cases the park has separated the Mama orca it’s calf, although they have stated that they do no such thing. I agree that this theme park should at least let the dolphins and orcas, who are too big for captivity, back into the ocean where they belong. NO MORE ANIMAL ABUSE!!!!

Aquarium death?
In a Corpus Christi Aquarium many fish have died without any given explanation. The tank has been examined and could have possibly had a parasite, this had already been treated. The fried fish were what set off the red light for the keepers, they have tried examining the fish individually but they are still dying. The tank also held a sand tiger shark, a nurse shark, a lionfish, and a other fish. The tank was also examined for chemical concoction before putting in the parasite treatment, but these fish are still in danger of dying along with other fish in the tank that may not be sick. The sad thing is that we try to “save” fish from the dangers in the ocean, but in reality they are not safe anywhere (just like humans). Fish die in the wild everyday, even if their species are not endangered, fish are going to evolve to adjust to the chemicals and the pollution in the their tanks/water.

Aquarium Killed It's Fish

photo
An aquarium in Texas accidentally killed off a good portion of it's fish, including a sand tiger shark, a nurse shark, a lionfish and a lot more. Nobody knows why this happened, even when the fish were individually nursed, nothing helped. This was caused after treating the water with a chemical to kill off some parasites.

Sharing Make up?

This 27 year old mother was diagnosed with life threatening MRSA because she borrowed her friends make-up brush to cover a blemish. Jo Gilchrist was admitted into the hospital, due to pain in her spine, on February of this year. Her friend had a staph infection before she used her make-up brush, but she never thought of it because she always shared with friends. The bacteria damaged her spine and caused numbness in her legs, doctors say that this numbness will continue spreading all through her body, which will be followed by a coma where she will have to learn to breath again. Children/teenagers please do not share you things if you know that you have an illness or sickness, be more aware of what you use because you don’t want to suffer any of the consequences. Lawyer wants to legalize killing of Gays

Matthew Gregory McLaughlin, a lawyer in California proposed to legally kill Gays and Lesbians. The “Sodomite Suppression Act” is suppose to kill anyone that “willingly” has physical contact with  the same gender. Paying 200 dollars to make and submit this act, has made everyone curious about what he is thinking. People that are against this law have began to vote against this new act their goal is 7,500 they have more than 5,000 today. Spreading “sodomite propaganda” will get you jail time with a 1,000,000 dollar fine, this makes people view lawyers in a way that make one wonder if they are really making justice. There is people that in general don’t mind about an individual’s sexuality and those people that do mind, but it is going to an extreme to say that you want them dead. What do you say should this be a law or not?

Rise in Houston Homicides
Since the beginning of the year, there has been an increase of 38% homicides since last year, which amounts to 65. Police say that they have no control over what happens in private. They also say that drugs and alcohol are largely to blame for this. This  is surprising, since other crimes such as rape, aggravated assault, robbery and burglary are declining.

Nurse sues hospital for catching ebola
Nina Pham sues the hospital for catching ebola. The hospital warned her about ebola before she started working there, but she ignored them. The chief’s medical officer Wholly, failed to make sure that everyone knew the appropriate policies and that they were trained well. Nina thought they would be honest about everything that happened, but they weren’t. She had no choice but to press charges.
Ebola survivor sues Hospital?
The nurse that survived Ebola comes back with a lawsuit against the Hospital  company where she contracted Ebola. Nina Pham filed a lawsuit on Monday of this week to the parent company, Texas Health Resources, for not doing the best they could to prevent Ebola. Apparently the staff  failed to ensure the safety of the patients by not seeing the signs of Ebola properly and not responding accordingly. Thomas Eric Duncan had shown the symptoms when he first arrived but he was discharged, which caused less chances of fighting the virus.  When she was treating him the hospital failed to give her the proper equipment to actually treat him, she had her neck and hair exposed all the time. She will not be heading back to work and still has exhaustion, aches, and nightmares from the experimental drugs or  ailments of Ebola. This is to help those in the hospital reach for a better understanding of procedures and common care among workers, family, strangers and those working inside the hospitals.

Jordan Avenges killing of it’s pilot

Two days ago, an ISIS video emerged showing what seemed to be the burning of one of a Jordanian pilot. Jordan retaliated by sending fighter jets and bombard the ISIS capital of Raqqa in Syria. Jordan’s king, Abdullah II, flew to the home of the slain pilot, Lt. Moath al-Kasasbeh, and showed his family the flying aircraft as proof that Jordan was retaliating with force. This attack on ISIS was only one of the two attacks that happened on Thursday in Syria. It was reported that 10 militants were eliminated. While on Wednesday, Jordan executed two ISIS militants, one a would-be suicide bomber and a former al Qaeda member.

A questionable decision to pass, a brawl and other key Super Bowl moments

Super Bowl XLIX was definitely one to remember. The Seattle Seahawks had the lead the majority of the game, going back and forth with the New England Patriots. When the clock began to count down, thats when the game started. People are saying Russell Wilson made the wrong play. However, Wilson’s Coach told him to make that exact play. But why would he do that? Many are starting to believe that this game was rigged. There is no reason that The Seahawks should have lost that game. They were so close to bringing the championship home! Who do you think the blame should be put on?

After weeks of being questioned about the deflating balls, the patriots join other NFL teams with another super bowl trophy. Congratulations to the patriots for winning the game.

Bad parent

What is the best way to keep a child quiet? Certainly not by slashing their throats, a twenty-eight year old mother called 911 claiming that her children were crying “uncontrollably”and  that they need medical help. Thomas and Christina Booth are parents of three children, a two year old and six month twins. When cops arrived the twins were in the couch crying with a blood on their necks and the two year old was in the bed covered in blood. The children were taken to a local hospital and had a surgery that stabilized their health they will also be put in “protective custody”. Her bail is of $3 million and the father has not been charged.

Get rid of minimum mandatory sentencing laws

In 2010, Marissa Alexander discharged a firearm in the direction of her estranged husband, Rico Gray which she called a "warning shot" that missed him by several inches. Their two children were present. Alexander claimed self-defense, but a judge declined to grant self-defense. Alexander was sentenced to 20 years in prison. She was able to serve only three years and one year on house arrest and was recently released. Alexander had also had a baby at the time and had two more other children. To have spent time in prison for shooting a warning shot and not harming anyone seems absurd. Acts of domestic violence happens everyday and I believe she was innocent. What do you think?

Blackbeard’s Medical Equipment
Archaeologists recover some spooky looking medical tools used aboard Queen Anne’s Revenge, Blackbeard’s ship. Some of the things that they’ve found are urethral syringes used to inject mercury to treat syphilis. You have to remember that these men were under incredible amounts of pain, and did whatever they thought was necessary to make it stop. Originally, Queen Anne’s Revenge was a slave ship, that had doctors, and after Blackbeard captured it, he kept them to help alleviate their wounds.

Snow keeps falling, high tide looms as New England battles blizzard

While sparing much of New York and New Jersey, the much talked-about storm managed to wallop parts of New England on Tuesday. And even after producing coastal flooding and dropping several feet of snow (including 30 inches in Framingham, Massachusetts, and up to 6-foot drifts statewide), there's more to come. Here in Houston we have not had to deal with extreme cold weather hardly at all and frankly I am glad. Many Houstonians wish that there would be colder winters, and that it would snow at least once on Christmas day. I personally am fine with the mild winter weather here in Houston, but what do you think?

Rare species

The picture above is a rare Black Jaguar, it is known to only be about 600 of this species. The CEO of a wild fund caught one of the Black Jaguares swimming and was amazed because these predators are rare to see in the wild. These rare species are becoming more and more rare to the public and in the wild. Recently two Black Jaguars were born in a Zacango Zoo in Mexico, one of which was born melanistic, which means completely black but still has spots. These cub were artificially made like the rest of the other breedings, so the specie can not  be extinct most of the cubs are now being artificially. What a great discovery, now younger generations are able to see new species.
